Particles creating plasma sprayed Al2O3 + 13%TiO2 coating (in Slovak) PALKA, V., POSTRKOVA, E., KOLENCIAK, V. vol. 34 (1996), no. 6, pp. 367 - 375
Abstract We studied types of powder particles and their distribution with respect to the centre of coating after plasma spraying at constant position of plasma gun and substrate. The coating formed by plasma spraying of Al2O3 + 13%TiO2 powder consists of different types of particles - deformed particles (splats), partially deformed particles and undefor-med particles. Distribution of the particles on the substrate surface is not homogeneous. Small, undeformed powder particles, with their maximum dimensions less than 5 µm, are present in all studied coating areas. The basic assumption of particle deformation after impingement on the substrate is particle melting in plasma torch. We can find essentially more melted powder particles in case of injector angle α = 75°, comparing with the position α = 90°. Angle a determines the position of powder injector to the axis of plasma torch. Key words plasma spraying of Al2O3 + 13%TiO2 powders, powder particles, distribution Full text not available
