Peculiarities of extreme localization of plastic deformation in amorphous metallic materials (in Slovak) MISKUF, J., CSACH, K., OCELIK, V., BENGUS V. Z., TABACHNIKOVA, E. D. vol. 34 (1996), no. 6, pp. 329 - 335
Abstract The ductile-shear-failure surfaces of amorphous metallic materials obtained under uniaxial tension and pressure loading conditions had a similar morphology. Extremal spatial and time localization of the plastic deformation during the catastrophic shear results in a local heating of this region and a possible presence of a "liquid-like" layer at the moment of rupture. The shear band width in an amorphous-alloy ribbon was estimated by a fractographic analysis (~5 nm).
