The dendritic segregation of impurities in steel and its distribution curves prediction (in Czech) DOBROVSKA ,V., DOBROVSKA, J., REK, A., STRANSKY, K. vol. 33 (1995), no. 6, pp. 462 - 472
Abstract In this paper the original method for estimation of distribution curves of the dendritic segregation of impurities in steel and its application are presented. The method describes relations among the following parameters: the solid/liquid partition coefficient of the given element and its statistical distribution (we suppose that the partition coefficient tends to a small value), the segregation equation according to Scheil [2] and Brody and Flemings [3], and the dendritic segregation grade of the given element (impurities). Using this method, it is possible to estimate the concentration of given impurities and their probability in the system - Matrix I and II (see tab. 2 and 3). Then it is possible to calculate the dendritic distribution curve of the impurities in the real system. It was demonstrated that the dendritic distribution curve of the impurities has a log-normal statistical distribution (see figs. 1 and 2). The application of this method has been verified on the base of comparison of the calculated and measured distribution curves of the dendritic segregation of sulphur (see figs. 2 to 4).
