Quantitative analysis of transient shape of graphite in cast iron (in Slovak) SKOCOVSKY, P., KONECNA, R. vol. 33 (1995), no. 6, pp. 452 - 461
Abstract The paper deals with the topical task of quantitative metallography - how to express the shape of graphite by numerical data which could be used in the mathematic description of the properties - structure relationship. Possibilities of quantification primarily the transient shapes of vermicular graphite are discussed. It follows from the carried out structure analysis that vermicular graphite creates a space branched configuration with branches of variable shapes. Four concepts were suggested for the shape description and the use of fractals is shown relevant for the problem solution. Key words quantitative metallography, graphite Full text not available
