Quantitative metallographical analysis of microstructure of an Al-Cu-Li-Zr alloy (in Czech) MACEK, K., BENES, V., NEVECERALOVA, J., SLAMOVA, M., STARKA, P. vol. 33 (1995), no. 6, pp. 439 - 451
Abstract The microstructure of an Al-Cu-Li-Zr alloy was investigated with the aim to contribute to the explanation of differences between extremal values of strength in the cross-section of the extrudates. The semiproduct was manufactured by hot extrusion and then thermally treated by solution treatment, stretching and artificial ageing. Quantitative assessment of microstructure was carried out by means of light microscopy either automatically using an image analyzer or applying conventional manual methods. Possible causes both or different strength between selected regions of the extrudate and differences in quantitative metallographical characteristics as detected by applied experimental methods are discussed.
