Abstract X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) have been used to study the structure and phase transformations in Cu-Ni-Pd alloys at various compositions. XRD experiments have been performed at two different temperatures 723 K and 1173 K. The structure of all samples was found to be face centered cubic (fcc). The lattice parameters were found to depend strongly on concentration of Ni and Pd and are in good agreement with those calculated by Vegard’s rule. Results of experiments show that Ni is completely soluble in Cu-Pd because its atomic size matches with Cu and Pd atoms.
