Cathodic anticorrosive protection of magnesium alloy AZ91 (in Slovak) HADZIMA, B., PALCEK, P., CHALUPOVA, M., CANADY, R. vol. 41 (2003), no. 4, pp. 257 - 269
Abstract The conditions for cathodic anticorrosive protection of AZ91 magnesium alloy are described in this article. Cathodic protection is one of the new approaches how to solve low corrosive resistance of magnesium alloys at some conditions. AZ91 alloy specimens were evaluated by galvanostatic tests at various protective current densities. The efficiency of application of protective current density was evaluated by potentiodynamic tests, gravimetric methods and by the observation of the ratio of the surface attacked by corrosion. The conditions for application of cathodic protection of AZ91 alloy specimens in 1M water solution of NaCl were determined according to the measured results.
