Influence of volume fraction and carbon fibres orientation on abrasion wear of composite material with copper matrix (in Slovak) SEBO, P., MARUNOVA, G., STEFANIK, P., KAVECKY, S. vol. 41 (2003), no. 4, pp. 248 - 254
Abstract In the present work the hardness and abrasive wear of unidirectional carbon fibres-copper matrix composites in dependence on orientation of fibres and their volume fraction (40, 50 and 60 vol.%) are analysed. The maximum values of hardness and relative resistance against abrasive wear were observed on the surfaces normal to fibre orientation. On the surface of samples after abrasive wear one can see the bare fibres without matrix due to very low adhesion between both components.
