Deformation behaviour of magnesium alloy Mg-07wt.%Nd at elevated temperatures (in Czech) TROJANOVA, Z., GARTNEROVA, V., PADALKA, O. vol. 42 (2004), no. 3, pp. 206 - 213
Abstract Deformation behaviour of the model Mg-0.7wt.%Nd alloy was investigated in tensile tests at elevated temperatures. Many twins were observed in the microstructure of deformed samples. The apparent volume fraction of twins observed in the light microscope decreases with increasing test temperature. TEM revealed fine twins concentrated in twin lamellae in many cases with the width < 1 μm. Obtained local maximum in the temperature dependence of the yield stress as well as in the maximum stress indicates a presence of a dynamic strain ageing. The Portevin-Le Chatelier effect was observed at temperatures between 200 and 300 °C.
