Application of fractal analysis to evaluation of fracture surfaces in high-strength structural steels (in Czech) MAZANCOVA, E., MAZANEC, K. vol. 37 (1999), no. 3, pp. 184 - 190
Abstract The paper is devoted to the evaluation of fractal characteristics (fractal dimension D, linear RL and surface RS roughness) of fracture surfaces in two types of the granular bainite with a different volume fraction of the M/A particles. The fractal characteristics were determined in the defined distances from the notch-tip of the impact toughness specimens (-20 °C). It was shown that no correlation can be found between the achieved level of the fractal characteristics and the impact-toughness (or fracture toughness). The characteristics are different in single chosen distances from the notch-tip and are not the singular parameters of the whole fracture surface and represent the local response. Key words fractal analysis, fractal dimension, linear toughness parameter, surface roughness parameter, granular bainite, M/A particles Full text not available
