Abstract The article deals with microstructure and cutting properties of chemically modified high speed steels produced via powder metallurgy. The starting high speed steel powders were obtained via atomization under rapid solidification conditions. PM high speed steels consolidated using PM extrusion showed 3-times better cutting life when comparing with high speed steel produced via melt metallurgy. Key words microstructure, cutting properties, PM high speed steels Full text not available
