Abstract Principal purpose of this research is to study the effect of atomic number and atomic weight on behavior of time-dependent inelastic deformation in metals. For achieving this purpose, analytical and semi-analytical methods are used for analyzing the behavior of the deformations. The elements such as silver, aluminum and nickel are selected for validation of the presented method and obtained results. The effect of other important parameters is investigated for predicting time-dependent behavior of creeping metals. As a result, we can control creep behavior in metals in order to prevent creep rupture. Finally, good agreement is found between presented method and available experimental results.
