Influence of composition on natural ageing of Al-Mg-Si alloys STULIKOVA, I., FALTUS, J., SMOLA, B. vol. 45 (2007), no. 2, pp. 85 - 90
Abstract The effect of composition on natural aging of Al-Mg-Si alloys was studied by the response of hardness HV30 and electrical conductivity in five alloys (AA6xxx series) containing besides the main solutes Mg and Si (AA6082) also small additions of Cu (AA6262) and Cu with Sn (three variants of AA6023). Simple model concept was adopted to evaluate these responses. The addition of Sn induces an incubation period in both HV30 and resistivity response that decreases with increasing Mg content. Mg, Si and Cu take part in clustering in Cu and Sn containing alloys. Key words aluminium alloys, tin, aging, hardness, electrical resistivity Full text (125 KB)
