Kinetics of growth of M23C6 intergranular precipitates in 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo austenitic stainless steel (in Slovak) ZAHUMENSKY, P., SEVC, P., JANOVEC, J. vol. 37 (1999), no. 2, pp. 108 - 119
Abstract In this work, the growth of secondary phase particles on austenite grain boundaries in 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo steel exposed at 650, 700, 800, 900, and 950 °C is investigated. The particle sizes measured experimentally are compared with those calculated using semi-empirical Lifsic-Sljozov-Wagner equation. The positive correlation between intergranular particle sizes and exposition temperature and time has been found. The experimentally measured and calculated values have exhibited good concordance, what confirms the suitability of the Lifsic-Sljozov-Wagner equation for description of intergranular M23C6 particle growth in 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo steel.
