Low temperature serrated flow in Cu-2Be alloy (in Czech) TROJANOVA, Z., GROGER, V., ZEHETBAUER, M., SMOLA, B. vol. 36 (1998), no. 1, pp. 23 - 32
Abstract In the homogenized Cu-2Be alloy discontinuous flow has been investigated at 4.2 K. The behaviour of serrated yielding is dependent on the strain rate. The strain rate sensitivity of the yield stress is slightly negative, whereas the stress for the onset of serrated flow increases with increasing strain rate. The character of serrated flow changes with the strain rate. The frequency of stress drops depends on the strain; at the beginning of deformation it depends on the strain rate, whereas at higher stages of deformation achieves its saturated value. These findings are discussed on the basis of current concepts of the nature of low temperature instability. Key words Cu-2Be alloy, temperature instability, discontinuous flow Full text not available
