Evaluation of strength and fracture toughness for injection moulded alumina ceramics (in Czech) REINISCH, M., VLACH, B., TRUNEC, M. vol. 34 (1996), no. 1, pp. 44 - 57
Abstract Alumina ceramics was prepared by injection moulding of ceramic mixture containing alumina powder and thermoplastic binder. Strength and fracture toughness of four sintered ceramic powder materials were determined. The three and four point flexure procedure were used to evaluate the strength. The three different methods of fracture toughness measurement were compared: Single Edge Precracked Beam (SEPB), Single Edge V Notch Beam (SEVNB) and Chevron V Notch (CVN). It was found that the strength was reduced and the toughness increased compared with the respective microstructure data.
