Abstract The dependence of the SD effect on temperature, strain rate and dispersoid content has been used to evaluate the interphase boundary in Al-Al4C3 systems. The results show the decrease of the SD effect with the increase of both the test temperature and strain rate. It has been shown, this property characterizing the interphase boundary is independent on the dispersoid content in the tested range.
