Thermodynamic and fractographic aspects of phosphorus segregation at grain boundaries in low-alloy steels (in Slovak)

Abstract
The Langmuir-McLean equation representing non-interaction segregation theories and segregation equations containing Fowler- and/or Guttmann-type interaction terms were tested by experimentally achieved values of the P, Cr, Mo, and V grain boundary concentrations in Cr-Mo-V low-alloy steel. An application of the Langmuir-McLean equation or segregation equations containing Guttmann's interaction terms in calculations led to physically acceptable results. Using segregation equations containing Fowler term, meaningless results were achieved. A positive correlation between values of the phosphorus grain-boundary concentration and portion of intergranular fracture was confirmed in the case of the phosphorus saturation at grain boundaries.
