Abstract
The subject of the paper is an optical method determining the crystal orientation and its comparison with the Laue diffractographic X-ray method. Both methods were used to determine the crystallographic orientation of the longitudinal axis and surface planes of a crystal bar with an oblong cross section. A comparison shows similar accuracy of both methods. The shorter time needed and more simple laboratory equipment used can be seen as an advantage of the optical method.
